Medical Camps

IIM Lucknow: In association with the Health Center, a medical camp is conducted annually for the contractual employees working in various departments. These employees are not covered under any medical insurance and hence do not get a chance to get themselves tested to prevent or detect any diseases.

Thus, in such medical camps, employees get an opportunity to undergo important medical tests. Further, they also receive medicines to treat any early-stage diseases related to these tests and are referred to the appropriate healthcare channel for further treatment. Every year more than 200 contractual workers avail benefits from the tests and medicines provided at the camp.

Saidapur: Similar medical camps are also organized in Saidapur village in collaboration with Lion’s Club. The village has bare minimum healthcare facilities; thus, the medical camp helps the villagers identify health issues after which they are given medicines or referred to the block level healthcare center. More than 150 men, women and children avail benefits of the medical camp services every year. Care includes general, gynecological and dental care through allopathic and homeopathic medicines.

Blood Donation Camp

Blood donation camps are organized every six months in association with the Health Center, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences and Akanksha Foundation, and the members of the IIM Lucknow community are encouraged to donate blood. Usually, we see a collection of over 140 units of blood, therefore, impacting more than 800 lives.

DATRI - Blood Stem Cell Donor Awareness Drive

‘The odds of finding a match are 1 in 10,000 to 1 in a million.’ Nonetheless, we at Bhavishya want to try our best at saving a life if we can. If a match is found then blood stem cells can help people with blood disorders. Every year, DATRI sets up a blood stem cell donor awareness and registry camp and we see participation from nearly 200.
